Abstract

Climate change is one of the emerging problem globally that is effecting every type of organism in one or another way. In previous some years, climatic change is going on with rapid and drastic changing that having adverse effect on the living organism and their habitat. Mahseer is considered as one of the important endemic species in India. The Mahseer species has their own level of economic value due to their size, taste and growing properties. The rapid climatic change is also affecting Mahseer in many ways that leading to habitat destruction, growth reduction, loss of specie richness, migration routes, pattern of breeding and ultimately their survival. The affecting factors are going on increasing day by day and ultimately leads to stage where the population is at state of critically endangered. Proper conservation strategies are needs to be implicated for further loss in population diversity. Different conservational strategies will having ultimate goal to provide suitable and sustainable environment for the normal and proper growth of Mahseer. Mahseer conservation may prove as economically strengthen factor for the specific native country, where the species are inhabited.
