The Evolving Role of Anesthesia in Emergency Room Procedures
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Emergency Room (ER) stands as a cornerstone of acute medical care, characterized by its rapid pace, unpredictable challenges, and the imperative to provide immediate, life-saving interventions. Within this high-stakes environment, the role of anesthesia has historically been perceived as secondary to that of immediate resuscitation and stabilization. However, recent advancements and paradigm shifts have propelled anesthesia into a pivotal position within ER procedures. This paper elucidates the changing landscape of anesthesia in emergency settings, exploring its expanding role, challenges, and the transformative impact on patient outcomes.
